SDC Systems Ltd, one of Europe’s leading distributors of tools and technologies for the embedded systems sector, has announced that it will be exhibiting technologies that enable the development of graphical user interfaces that can be certified to safety standard D0178B at the upcoming MAE Show to be held on Nov 30th at Reading. www.mae-show.co.uk
The MAE event is a one-day technology forum focused on the design and development of military, defence and aerospace electronic systems. The conference is built around a day of technical seminars that inform and educate engineering professionals on the key topics in this challenging environment; helping them to make more informed decisions for their current and future design projects.
SDC Systems will be exhibiting technologies from ALT Software, the world’s leading supplier of software solutions that enable 2D and 3D graphics in embedded computing system displays. ALT Software solutions are found in devices used in the Aerospace and Defense, Industrial, Medical, Consumer, Mobility, and Automotive sectors. They specialise in enabling the OpenGL ES and OpenGL SC open standard graphics API in embedded devices.
“ALT Software’s DO-178B Level A graphics display drivers enable avionics developers to create content-rich graphics applications and user interfaces for mission and safety-critical systems,” stated Stuart Parker, Managing Director of SDC Systems Ltd. “ALT’s drivers are certifiable up to Design Assurance Level (DAL) A, the highest level of software criticality recognized by the FAA, EASA, Transport Canada and the JAA. For the defence and aerospace market this is an important technology that we are very proud to be exhibiting.”
SDC Systems will also be exhibiting their IData Tool Suite. A tool-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) application development and deployment environment, which offers advanced features for creating powerful HMI applications that are portable to any target platform.
“Again, this is an ideal technology for the MAE event,” said Stuart Parker. “IData is ideally suited for a large range of UI applications that 2D and 3D graphics and video streams such as digital and analog instrumentation, flat panel display symbology, HUDs, interactive virtual consoles, digital map displays, and embedded training. The powerful development environment dramatically shortens development time for embedded cockpit displays, flight simulators, and aircraft trainers.”
SDC Systems are also planning to exhibit software testing tools from Klocwork and Rapita. Klocwork is a leader in automated source code analysis solutions for improving developer productivity. Klocwork’s source code analysis tools can assist in addressing key areas of the DO-178B guidance, specifically several objectives in the Software Verification and Software Lifecycle Data sections. The use of Klocwork Insight helps automate time consuming tasks, streamlining the development effort required to achieve DO-178B certification. Rapita provide tools that include a powerful worst-case timing analysis tool, ideal for testing mission critical software and have recently released a version of their Rapitime toolset for C++.
