New multi channel synchronized recorder for use in demanding defense and aerospace applications such as instrumentation recording, mission recording, and SIGINT/ELINT recording. |
ASHBURN, VA – September 28, 2012 – Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions (CWCDS), a business group of Curtiss-Wright Controls, has announced a new multi channel synchronized recorder for use in demanding defense and aerospace applications such as instrumentation recording, mission recording, and SIGINT/ELINT recording. The Vortex Multi-Channel Synchronized Recorder (Vortex MCSR) is a turn-key streaming data recorder system that uses extremely accurate time stamping to deliver optimal synchronized play-back of multiple I/O channels. It supports the recording of various protocols such as sFPDP, Gigabit Ethernet and 10GbE. The Vortex MCSR synchronizes all data channels within the data recorder. It also enables the synchronous starting/stopping of all data channels simultaneously and provides accurate time alignment between each at playback. The scalable system comprises uniquely configured off-the-shelf 1U controllers with space-saving internal rotating or solid-state removable storage. The Vortex MCSR speeds and simplifies the integration of high performance multi-channel data recording and storage in both rugged and lab environments.
“Our new Vortex MCSR Multi-Channel Synchronized Recorder is ideal for multi-channel, high-rate, streaming data recording to support the proliferation of sensors on today’s military platforms,” said Lynn Bamford, senior vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions. “This COTS-based off-the-shelf recorder system synchronizes multiple channels of data from sensors such as radar, sonar, FLIR, RF tuners, MRI and cameras and allows playback in the same form and sequence as it was recorded. Vortex MCSR expands our product offerings and our position as the leader in high-speed, multi-channel data recording.”
Features:
10 GbE data recorded at near full line rate
All Ethernet traffic recorded including UDP & TCP
Data Retrieval via out-of-band Ethernet control port (standard)
Data Retrieval via Fibre Channel (optional kit)
Unique Data Capture & Timestamp
The Vortex MCSR features a proprietary data capture hardware system that captures incoming sFPDP, Ethernet and 10 GbE data frames and performs extremely accurate time-stamping of each frame at full (sFPDP, Ethernet) or near full (10GbE) line rate. The highly accurate time-stamping, prior to storage, ensures that captured data can be played back via the channels as it was recorded. The Vortex MCSR’s time-stamping also delivers the accuracy needed for detailed post-analysis of critical data.
Command Line Interface
Configuration and control of the Vortex MCSR is made simple and powerful via its user-friendly Command Line Interface (CLI). The CLI provides a full set of commands including Record Control, File Management, Disk Management, NFS Configuration and System Configuration. It also includes a help command that provides the help text for a command as well as lists all available commands.
For over ten years, Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions has been recognized as an industry leading expert in data recording and storage. The new Vortex MCSR is the latest addition to our expansive Vortex family of solutions for instrumentation recording, mission recording, SIGINT/ELINT recording plus storage for both rugged and lab environments. Our 10+ years of recorders experience make your job easier.
