As in the previous generation receivers, the RXR6300 is ideally suited for independently tuned applications such as search and copy as well as phase-coherent, N-channel processing for direction finding and digital beamforming. The tuner’s inherent flat pass band response and extremely low phase noise also make the RXR6300 ideally suited for TDOA/FDOA geo-location applications.

“We are extremely pleased with this important milestone which represents the next generation of a continuing series of Eclipse Tuner products” said Jeff Sanders, founder and CEO of Eclipse Electronic Systems. “The RXR6300 combines the best design concepts garnered from decades of receiver design experience with leading-edge A/Ds, FPGA components, and advanced modular packaging techniques to produce our most sophisticated receiver to date.”

“As important as the extended tuning range, increased instantaneous bandwidth and unprecedented functional density of this new receiver, is its adherence to open standards and its reliability”, added John Payne, President of Eclipse.

The RXR6300 complies with the ANSI/VITA-46 VPX standard and the ANSI/VITA-65 architectural framework for VPX. Mechanically, the RXR6300 fully complies with the ANSI/VITA-67 blind mate coaxial interface for the VPX backplane, eliminating the need for cabling other than through the backplane. The tuner complies with ANSI/VITA 48.2 specification for conduction cooled plug in units as well. The included software API for the RXR6300 is based upon the previous generation products. The RXR6300 also complies with the ANSI/VITA-49 VRT standard which defines the transport layer protocol designed to promote interoperability between RF receivers and back-end signal processing hardware.

Esterline Communication Systems will be showcasing a selection of its products, including the RXR6300, at the AUSA Annual Meeting in Washington DC, 22-24 October 2012. For further information or to book an appointment please contact us on [email protected]
