AUSA 2013 (Booth 8019) – Washington, D.C. – October 22, 2013 – Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions, a business unit of Curtiss-Wright Controls, today announced an innovative new initiative to provide system integrators with a wide range of pre-qualified and validated System Ready Application (SRA) solutions. Without adding additional costs, these pre-verified solutions remove integration and interoperability design risk from the process of integrating new application functionality into embedded systems. The availability of pre-qualified and validated SRAs for use with specific Curtiss-Wright COTS modules will significantly speed the integration of new capabilities into embedded systems since test and verification have already been performed. The new SRAs are designed to lower the cost and speed the integration of critical capabilities, such as Digital Mapping, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Cross Domain Guard data security solutions, into rugged COTS-based deployed systems for defense and aerospace applications.
“We have selected the industry’s leading software solutions providers for some of the most critical system capabilities, and working with them, have pre-qualified and tested our hardware and their software package to ensure optimal performance, eliminating the integration risk, time, and cost of that would otherwise burden the system integrator,” said Lynn Bamford, senior vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions. “With our new System Ready Application initiative, the Curtiss-Wright sales team will ensure the seamless delivery of critical new capabilities to the warfighter.”
Under the SRA initiative, Curtiss-Wright will work with select software solution partners to ensure that the required software components needed to integrate their software packages with Curtiss-Wright modules have been developed, tested, and qualified in advance. SRA solutions will ease the integration of new application capabilities into embedded systems by matching pre-verified software applications and Curtiss-Wright hardware. SRAs enable customers to simply choose from a list of pre-validated capability solutions, each addressed with a proven and qualified software and hardware set.
By referencing the SRA capability offerings listed on Curtiss-Wright’s website system integrators can quickly find which Curtiss-Wright module and pre-qualified SRA partner software package deliver the desired capability. This approach also eliminates the time-consuming process of developing software drivers, and validating performance that system integrators must currently undertake to integrate critical capability software packages.
The SRAs define the specific hardware, provided by Curtiss-Wright, and the software package, provided by the best-of-breed software partner identified to supply the specific capability. The list of Curtiss-Wright module and partner software SRA solutions, for which that capability has already been verified and pre-tested, will continually expand.
Introducing the System Ready Application
Curtiss-Wright’s new SRAs provide system integrators with cost-effective proven technologies that enable customers to quickly and easily enhance their embedded systems’ capabilities. By taking the design risk out of adding new applications to both new and existing systems, pre-verified SRAs significantly reduce the upfront costs and development schedule.
System Ready Application Advantages:
• Complete hardware (from Curtiss-Wright) and software solution (from select SRA Partner) ready to integrate in to the system
• Coordination between Curtiss-Wright and SRA software partner facilitated by Curtiss-Wright Sales team to ensure seamless integration process
• Pre-tested and validated as an integrated solution
• Minimizes design risk
• Reduces cost and schedule
• Solution level “Getting Started Guide” with demonstration software to get you running fast
With a wide range of hardware options, industry leading software support and wide range of chassis and integrated systems, Curtiss-Wright is able to offer SRAs for integration in to existing systems or packaged in a turnkey rugged deployable system.
