Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) has released a 2.45GHz Gain adjustable active Wi-Fi RFID reader (GAO217002) which is designed to operate in the unlicensed 2.45GHz band and thus can be deployed globally. It is ideally suited forlogistics and warehouse management, closed loop asset tracking and high value asset tracking.

GAO’s 2.45GHz Gain adjustable active Wi-Fi RFID reader utilizes advanced 0.18um CMOS IC technology for ultra-low power consumption and utilizes the 802.11b wireless communication standard (Wi-Fi) for data transmission. Its built-in omni-directional antenna identifies transponder tagged items from up to 100 meters depending on the tag and environmentally conditions of course. The Wi-Fi reader has dual operating modes: direct mode and buffering mode. In direct mode, this reader uploads messages to the host system in real time. In buffering mode, it receives and saves messages that are uploaded upon request by the host system.
