ESCONDIDO, Calif.– One Stop Systems, a global provider in industrial-grade computing systems and components, today announced its MicroATX PCI Express (PCIe) expansion backplanes, offering high-speed connectivity in a small form factor. The MicroATX PCIe expansion backplane features one PCI 32/33 slot, three PCIe x1 slots, three Ethernet ports and a PCIe x4 cable connector. The MicroATX backplane can be cabled from a PCIe host slot in a PC or Express card in a laptop.

With flexibility in design, the MicroATX PCIe expansion backplane offers OEMs two options: a single PCIe version or a combo PCI/PCIe version. The MicroATX backplane can be used with One Stop Systems’ PCIe x4 Host Interface Board and PCIe x4 cable. The PCIe slots in the MicroATX backplane have x16 connectors, operating as x1. The combo PCI/PCIe version has x4 connectors that operate as x1 as well as PCI connectors.

“The MicroATX backplane brings PCIe cable expansion to the desktop, giving added functionality to consumers’ PC by providing a number of PCIe x1 slots,” said Steve Cooper, president of One Stop Systems. “Consumers can add high-speed PCIe cards to their existing PCs by installing a single PCIe host adapter in the PCIe slot of their local PC and cabling directly to our MicroATX backplane.”

PCIe Host Adapters and Cable

One Stop Systems’ host adapters feature a PCIe x4 or x8 cable connector on the slot cover. The host adapters are also available in CPCIe/PXIe form factor. The host adapters connect to PCIe cables that are PCI-SIG compliant.

PCIe Expansion System

One Stop Systems’ PCIe expansion systems are designed to extend the PCIe bus from a host system to additional PCIe, PCI, PCI-X, PXI or CompactPCI expansion slots. The 1U PCIe switch provides further expansion to multiple chassis. One Stop Systems’ expansion systems are available in numerous varieties of backplanes and enclosures.
