SALT LAKE CITY and SAN DIEGO – June 5, 2008 – Parvus today announced a technology demonstration to be held June 10-12 at AUVSIs Unmanned Systems North America 2008 exhibition in the San Diego Convention Center. Not only will Parvus be showcasing its family of rugged small form factor COTS mission computers, network routers and switches, but the company will demonstrate a new highly advanced video capture and compression solution with capabilities far exceeding that of traditional MPEG-4, H.264, or JPEG-2000 compression algorithms.

At booth# 1925 of this years largest unmanned systems exhibition, Parvus will display a field-deployable Parvus DuraCOR® 810 processor subsystem that has been specially equipped with capabilities for real-time, lossless video capture and compression — providing extremely low latency and real-time video encoding/decoding with significantly smaller file size, better image quality, and inherent error resilience compared to traditional compression technologies. A live display of high definition (HD) and ultra high definition (UHD) video compression and decompression over 802.11 wireless with COTS equipment is also anticipated.

Parvus invites US prime defense contractors and military agencies to witness the demo of this DuraCOR video appliance at the event. The company believes that such technology will empower real-time video transmission between military vehicles, aircraft, and soldiers and significantly enhance the capabilities of Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) applications. Parvus COTS computers and networking equipment are currently deployed across various unmanned and manned aircraft, ground vehicle, and naval installations. They are designed to survive harsh mobile environmental conditions experienced under MIL-STD-810F, including extreme temperatures, shock/vibration, and ingress, as well as power surge and voltage requirements of MIL-STD-1275D and MIL-STD-704E.
