Sunnyvale, CA— February 01, 2012 —PCI-SYSTEMS Inc. , a leading supplier of conduction cooled systems, today announced a OpenVPX , 3U flexible extender, enabling accelerated development of rugged conduction cooled embedded systems.

The VPX extender modules are built to extend a 3U VPX board completely out of a chassis, providing access to all sides of the module for testing and debugging.

Or solution features a Tyco Multi-Gig RT-2 connector “mini” backplane module to solve the problem of not having a right angle female connector for the DUT side of the extender.

There is a wide variety of mezzanine modules available, connected to the base board via ERNI high speed 10 GBit/s connectors.

• Signal rate: Gen2 5.0 GT/s
