A Series of Plug and Play Ethernet Media Converters from GAO

Toronto, Canada–GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) has launched this its Plug and Play Ethernet media converter series, which conforms to the international network IEEE 802.3 standard. The media converter series is designed to convert data signals between 10/100 Base-Tx and 100 Base-Fx fast Ethernet. The data signal converted by such the high performance media converters can be transmitted over long distance. The converters are used as a standalone unit or as a slide-in module to the converter rack or at in a central wiring closet. This Ethernet media converter series contains the following models: 3301, 3302, 3303, 3305-1, 3305-2 and 3305-3.

GAO’s Ethernet media converters, with builtd-in remote diagnostic capability, deploy unique switch chip design; each of them boasts a 512KB SSRAM buffer and 2K MAC address list. They connect fiber cable to twisted cable segments easily without any extra network operations and supports both full-duplex and half-duplex communication.

These converters are shipped with easy-to-read LEDs to ensure a convenient work state diagnosis. Additionally, broadcast filtering, address auto-learning and auto-update function and store-and-forward mechanism are available.
